 Ingredients for  Haldar Amla Paak (Sweet made from Fresh Turmeric and Gooseberry):

Haldar (Fresh Raw Turmeric)

Amla (Gooseberry)

Organic Jaggery

Drumstick leaves

Ghee

Saunth (Dried Ginger Powder)

Ganthoda (Pipramool) powder

Dessicated Coconut

Khus Khus (poppy seeds)

Dry fruits slivers

Method:

Wash and peel the skin of the Haldar (fresh raw turmeric). Now grate it. Wash the amla (gooseberry) and cook it on steam. After it is cooked well remove the seeds and mash it well. Now take some ghee in a heavy bottomed pan and roast the grated haldar on slow flame. Roast till the ghee separates. Now add the mashed amlas to this mixture.

In a separate kadai, take some ghee and add the jaggery. When the jaggery dissolves add the haldar-amla mixture to this kadai. Add chopped drumstick leaves and mix well. Add finely chopped dryfruits for garnishing.

Medicinal/Nutritive value:

Raw turmeric gives relief in cold, cough, fever and joint pain.

Amla is full of Vitamin C and hence good for hair, skin as well as eyesight. It helps to retain your youthful energy. Drumstick leaves are high in protein, calcium, potassium, Vitamin A, D, E and C. The leaves are helpful in curing bruises and skin disorders too.

Mahuda (Madhuca Indica)

Alsi (Flax seeds)

Moringa powder (Drumstick leaves powder)

Khus Khus (poppy seeds)

Black til (sesame seeds)

Saunth (Dried Ginger Powder)

Ganthoda (Pipramool) powder

Dried coconut

Method:

Dry roast the Mahuda and Alsi separately. Now coarsely crush the mahuda, alsi and black til using a stone and pestel. Now de-seed the dates and heat them in a pan for sometime to make it soft. Now put off the gas stove and add the crushed seeds. Also add khus khus, saunth and ganthoda. Mix everything well, add a little ghee and make balls.

Medicinal/Nutritive value:

Dates help in increasing haemoglobin levels in our body as its high in iron and calcium content. Mahuda provides strength and is an effective diuretic. It provides relief in bone related problems including fracture and even in joint pain.
