Ingredients:
For Dhoklis:
Besan (Gram Flour) – 1 cup
Rice Flour – 1 tsp
Ajwain (Carrom seeds) – ½ tsp
Turmeric powder – ½ tsp
Salt – as per taste
For the tempering:
Buttermilk – 2 cups
Garlic cloves – 4
Red chilli powder
Turmeric powder – ½ tsp
Cloves – 2
Curry leaves
Oil – 3 tsps
Coriander leaves for garnishing
Method:
Heat 1 cup water in a kadai. Now add turmeric powder, salt and ajwain to the water and let it boil. Once the water starts boiling add the besan and rice flour. Keep stirring with a ladle as you keep adding the flours so that there are no lumps. The flour mixture will start leaving the sides of the kadai. Then grease a plate with oil and spread the flour on the oil. Once it cools down a little, cut the dhoklis in pieces.
Now make a paste of the garlic cloves and red chilly powder. Add turmeric powder, red chilli powder and salt to the buttermilk and blend them well together and keep it aside. In a separate kadai, heat some oil on medium heat and add this paste. Stir well. Now add cloves and curry leaves. Add the dhoklis and mix well. Now add the buttermilk to the mixture. Boil the mixture for 5 to 6 minutes. Remove from the stove and garnish with finely chopped coriander leaves.
