Ingredients:
Husked wheat – 150 gms
Tuver dal (pegion pea) – 150 gms
Green garlic – 50 gms
Green chillies – 50 gms
Coriander leaves – 50 gms
Ajwain (Carrom seeds) – ½ tsp
Rai (Mustard seeds) – ½ tsp
Hing (Asafoetida) – ½ tsp
Cashewnuts – 10 gms
Raisins – 10 gms
Cloves – 10
Cinnamon – 10
Pepper – 10
Dried Red Chillies – 5
Oil – as per need
Salt – as per taste
Method:
Soak the husked wheat in water for 6 to 8 hours. Then wash and boil using a pressure cooker. After it is boiled, boil the tuver dal too. Now mix both wheat and tuver dal, adding required amount of salt. Now in another kadai take some oil for tempering. Add Rai, ajwain, pepper, cinnamon, cloves and hing to the hot oil. Add this to the mixed tuver dal and wheat. Now boil the khichado well. While it is boiling, add finely chopped green chillies and green garlic. Garnish the Khichado with cashewnuts and raisins and serve hot.
